The Perrysburg Municipal Pool has been temporarily closed for emergency repairs. Crews discovered this morning that the main pump wasn’t working, forcing the city to close the pool.

“We got a call around 8 a.m. and was told the shaft in the pump had sheared itself off, which is really uncommon,” said Rick Toepfer, deputy director of public services for Perrysburg. “By the time we get the parts on and the chlorine level back up, it’ll be too late to reopen today.”

If all goes well, the pool could be reopened as early as tomorrow, Mr. Toepfer said.
