Violinist to highlight Thelma Smith concert

BLADE STAFF

Perrysburg native and violinist Sarah Connelly will return home to perform a tribute concert in memory of the late Thelma Smith, a longtime Perrysburg resident and employee of Way Public Library.

The free Thelma Smith Memorial Concert starts at 7 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Smith, who died in April of 2014, retired after 20 years as the office manager. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1954 with a double major in vocal and instrumental music. She sang in choirs, taught piano, and was an organizer of the Perrysburg Symphony Chorale.

Ms. Connelly worked at the library while in high school.
